How You Can Help – Volunteer Opportunities

Food Market Volunteers

Food Market Volunteers

Join our food market team to ensure a welcoming shopping experience for participants. We’re looking for greeters, checkout attendants, and shelf stockers to keep the market running smoothly.

Administrative Support Volunteers

Administrative Support Volunteers

You’ll assist with greeting participants, answering phones, and/or calling participants signed up for our grocery delivery program.

Thrift Store Volunteers

Thrift Store Volunteers

Help organize and maintain our thrift store by sorting donations, refreshing the store's appearance, and assisting families at checkout during their shopping experience. Your efforts will ensure our visitors have access to the clothing and other items they need.

Behind The Scenes

Behind the Scenes Volunteers

Assist with sorting produce or nonperishable items, unloading donations, warehouse projects, and maintaining a clean environment. This physically active role is key to our daily operations and requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Food delivery machine

Drivers

Help pick up donations and deliver essentials to those in need. This role is crucial for maintaining our inventory and ensuring access for all, particularly homebound seniors.

We offer opportunities for groups looking to make a positive impact together, whether it's a corporate team, community organization, or friends and family. Additionally, we support individuals seeking to fulfill community engagement and community service hours on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to learn more.

  • Adult or Youth Volunteers

ACBC supports and encourages youth and family volunteering opportunities. When determining age limits for volunteers in specific roles, our highest priority is respecting the families we serve and maintaining volunteers’ safety. Youth volunteers age 16 and older are invited to apply to volunteer without adult supervision. Families with children aged 15 and under are encouraged to contact support@acbcfoodshelf.org to learn more about our available age-appropriate volunteer opportunities.

  • Background Check Cleared

For the safety and integrity of our operations, there are several roles in which the volunteer will be asked to undergo a background check.
