Learn more about joining the board of directors!

The Board of Directors for the Anoka County Brotherhood Council (ACBC) food shelf is actively seeking new members to fill key positions in 2024.   We keep our Board at a size that enables us to formulate and make governance decisions essential to the sustainable operation of ACBC.  We share responsibility in making those ongoing decisions while also supporting special committee assignments as needed.  Each member contribution is important!

ACBC Food Shelf serves over 10,000 families per year with food, clothing, and resources. The ACBC Board has an important governance role in support of our store operation as well as ACBC’s community outreach. Our objective is to have a diverse representation of local community individuals with business, civic organization, or social services experience.

Our Board generally meets 5 times per year with some additional time expectations related to special assignments (i.e., fundraising events, policy revisions, staff hiring, capital improvements, etc.).  Each Director term is two years (renewal optional). Board member liability insurance is provided.
