March FoodShare Campaign is the largest statewide food and fund drive for Minnesota food shelves.  It is made possible by partnerships with community organizations, businesses and faith communities!

Hunger Facts

Food Security is defined as “access by all people at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life.” Food Insecurity means that “consistent access to adequate food is limited by lack of money and other resources at times during the year.”

  • One in 10 Minnesotans are food insecure on a regular basis.
  • At ACBC Food Shelf, 37% of the individuals served are children under 18.
  • in 2015, 11% of all Minnesotans and almost 15% of kids in Minnesota lived below the poverty line.
  • Over 50% of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients have earned income.  Often expenses such as rent and daycare are too high for families to make ends meet.
  • Of families you receive SNAP, 75% of household have children, an elderly family member, or a family member with a disability.
  • Nearly 10% of ACBC clients are age 65 or older.

How you can help:

Donate food or money.

All donations received during the month of March are matched so the more dollars and pounds, the larger the incentive check.

Why give cash?

Food shelves have access to discounted food that can make the dollars go further.  Cash donations are vital because they allow us to feed more families.
